Many people in Utah enjoy hosting others during LDS General Conference week.
General Conference is held in the new Conference Center adjacent to Temple
Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. Spring Conference is generally the first
weekend in April, and Fall Conference is the first weekend in October.
Utah! Home Exchange helps people who want to host others find those who
need a place to stay. Conference visits are most often done as a “Hospitality
Exchange,” meaning that the family is there during the guest’s
visit. The Utah family then has the opportunity to stay with their guests
at a later date.
Using our regular Registration
Form, register your home. On question #10, “What type of exchange
are you offering?” be sure to check the box “LDS Conference
Visits Hospitality Exchange.” It is not necessary to register for
any other type of exchange unless you wish to do so. Some people will only register
to host others for Conference Visits.
Out-of-town people who would like to stay with you will get in touch with
you. It’s possible that you may have more folks contact you than you have
room to keep. In that case, you simply will have to let them know, as kindly
as possible, that your home is full this time.
First, using our regular Registration Form, register
your home. On question #10, “What type of exchange are you offering?”
be sure to check the box “LDS Conference Visits Hospitality Exchange.”
Please register well in advance of your planned visit!
Then as a registered member, you will be able to select a few potential
hosts, login, and then get the contact information for the hosts you
have selected. You will then contact your proposed hosts and arrange your
visit like any other hospitality exchange. It’s a good idea to do this
several months before Conference.
To find out which homes would like
to host Conference visitors, click on the button Search
by Criteria and search by “LDS Conference Visits” and location
“Utah.”
Please be sure to discuss with your hosts ahead of time all the details,
such as which meals will be provided and your transportation arrangements.
