Welcome to our little Honu Hale (Hawaiian for home of the turtles). We are located in a peaceful, serene area of the North Shore on the island of Oahu. Step out of the door onto the lanai and follow the short brick path to gaze out into the beautiful aqua Pacific waters, all within a stone’s throw from your feet. Here, during the seasons, you may see large sea turtles floating, spinner dolphins frolicking, and humpback whales breaching.
Enjoy exceptional privacy in this gated one bedroom, one bath beach house which sleeps 2 comfortably (3 with hideaway love seat). There are ceiling fans in all rooms and a 32" tv in the living area. You will find the small kitchenette (fridge, sink and micro) very convenient when you just want to stay home and relax. Honu Hale is available for exchanges nightly, weekly, and for extended vacations. The property is owned and managed by my husband and myself, Robert and Judith Brownell. Our home is also located on the property. We take pride in providing our exchange guests with a quality Oahu experience in our updated, well-equipped home located along the North Shore.
The beach in front of the house has soft, white sand and clear, turquoise-blue, ocean water nearly year-round. This is a swimming beach perfect for the entire family. Outstanding fishing, snorkeling, boogie boarding, surfing, kayaking, or beachcombing along the sandy beaches in front of the Honu Hale beach house are also available to you.
The peace and tranquility of the gentle ocean breezes and the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep after a long day of playing in the sun……here in local Waialua, HI.

| Description of area: |
| Our North Shore area is the very last of "country" left on O'ahu. This is a slower paced rural area near the quaint historical town of Haleiwa which hosts a number of restaurants, shops and markets. We are famous for our big winter surf... sometimes over 50 feet. In front of the house is the famous "Avalanche" surf site while just up the shoreline is Waimea Bay, Pipeline, Cabins, etc. Kaena Point (at lands end) is a short distance to the west... it boasts the largest waves in the world... and yes it is considered unsurfable.
We have a couple nearby bike paths and numerous hiking trails nearby. The Polynesian Cultural Center is about a 20 minute ride.
If the country gets a bit too quiet for you, the big city of Honolulu/Waikiki is "just over the hill"... about 45 minutes away. You can pick up the freeway about 15 minutes from our location. |
