Suggested Forms

These forms are totally optional but highly recommended! They are simply here to help you have an idea of what you need to discuss with your potential exchange partners.

There are several pages available to help you:

• Initial Contact Letter  This will give you an idea of what to say when you first contact the owners of that beautiful vacation house. You will create your own letter with your own details, but our sample will get you started.  Since you create your own letter, this page does not download like the two forms below!

• About Our House This is written in the format of a Sample Home Exchange Contract. Once you begin discussing details in earnest with your exchange partners, it will give you an idea of subjects to cover. You may not feel the need to it as an actual contract, but if you have ever struggled to adjust someone else’s air conditioner, you’ll appreciate what a help the information in it can be! You may decide to use it exactly as it is, in which case you can download and print it.

• About Our Car This is written as a Sample Automobile Contract. If you are exchanging cars, we recommend that you use this or a similar contract. You can, of course, amend it to fit your own needs.  It's also downloadable and printable.

If both parties to the exchange fill out and trade forms about their own home and/or car, they will find it helps make the exchange run smoothly. You will each have the information you need already written down in one place.

The About Our House Form and the About Our Car Form are both available as PDF Files. That means you can download them to your own computer.  Then when you print them, they will print out looking much better than if you just printed the first version.

You need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to download them. Many computers already have this, but if yours does not, don't worry. You can get it for free if you are connected to the Internet.

Just click the menu button for the form you want.  Then click "Download This Form" in the upper right corner for that page. If it works, great!  If not, come back and click the yellow Adobe Reader button below. This will take you to the Adobe website, where you can get it for free.  After that finishes, come back and download the desired form, and it should work!

Save the form someplace on your computer. Then you can print it off. Fill it in by hand, mail it to your exchange partners, and everyone's happy!
